claudia 1.8.0 is now available from NPM, with two new flags supported for faster deployments:
--no-optional-dependencieswill remove optional dependencies before sending a package to Lambda, which allows you to exclude things that you know will be available there, such as the AWS SDK and Image Magick libraries. Just make sure to use
--save-optionalwhen installing such packages to your project. For more info, check out the optionalDependencies package.json documentation.
--cache-api-config <VAR-NAME>can significantly speed up deployments when you change the code of your API but not the endpoint configurations. This will make Claudia store a signature of the API configuration with the deployed version, and upload a new configuration to API Gateway next time only if the signatures do not match.
VAR-NAMEis the name for the stage variable where Claudia will store the configuration. For example:
